What happens to your body when you drink a cup of coffee?
It’s more than just a jolt of caffeine: you also put acids into your body. It is easy to harm your body by putting too much acid into your system: a cup of coffee or two in the morning, a soda with lunch, and a glass of wine with dinner. All of these beverages increase your body’s acid levels and adjust the pH level of your diet. Everything you eat and drink has a place on the pH scale, ranging from acidic to alkaline.

Your body absorbs everything you eat and drink: if your diet is imbalanced or your body is sensitive to acid, this can result in bodily discomforts such as indigestion or more serious issues. According to Robert O Young, PhD, and Shelley Redford Young, “physiological disease is almost always the result of too much acid stressing the body’s pH balance” (17).

You can combat a high pH level with simple dietary changes and by staying away from overly acidic foods and beverages. But to make changes in your diet, you must first understand where the things you commonly consume fall on the pH scale.

Coffee and the pH scale: how does Puroast compare?
Coffee is not naturally very acidic: it is the roasting process that results in coffee’s high acidity Puroast uses a proprietary roasting process that results in a coffee bean with significantly lower amounts of acid than other coffee brands (see above). The health benefits associated with drinking Puroast Low Acid coffee will become almost immediately obvious to those who suffer from acid reflux, heartburn, or indigestion.

Research done at the University of California at Davis by Dr. Shibamoto shows that Puroast has significantly less acid than other coffees, with a level of 5.81 on the pH scale. Other coffee companies received rating of [insert ranks and companies here] on the pH scale.
