Puroast’s processing produces a coffee in such a way as to reduce the acidic and bitter elements that are found in the green beans. Green coffee beans, which are really the seed of the coffee fruit, contain a very bitter substance known as quinic acid. Any of you who’ve tried tonic water know that the bitterness in the beverage is quinine. In addition to causing bitterness, one particular quinic acid, diCQA is now thought to cause acid reflux. Tests performed by UC Davis laboratories show that Puroast has over 50% less diCQA than all other leading coffee brands and we believe this is the main reason for solving people’s acid problems relating to coffee drinking.
